Agatha Christie: 100 Years of Poirot and Miss Marple
The eccentric Belgian private investigator Hercule Poirot made his debut in Agatha Christie's (1890–1976) first book, which was released in 1920. The first short story featuring the amiable spinster Miss Jane Marple was published later, in 1927. Finding the traces of two of crime and mystery literature's most endearing characters through popular culture is an intriguing quest.
