Almost Holy
Because of the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine's social and political institutions were severely weakened. Many young people became homeless and addicted to a fatal mix of cold medication and alcohol. In the early 2000s, a preacher from Mariupol, Gennadiy Mokhnenko, forcibly abducted street youngsters and brought them to his Pilgrim Republic rehabilitation center, the largest of its kind in the former USSR. Gennadiy's unwavering commitment to solving his city's issues has earned him both a folk hero and a reputation as a lawless vigilante. Gennadiy is undeterred by criticism.
