American Revolution 2
American Revolution 2 begins with images showing political demonstrations at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, as well as the Chicago Police Department and National Guard's violent response. The filmmakers accompany members of the Chicago branch of the Black Panther Party as they seek common ground with a range of white activist groups as they investigate the lack of an African American presence at the protests. Panther Bobby Lee and members of the Young Patriots, a community of white Appalachian activists residing in Chicago's Uptown district, unite to protest police violence in one scene. The seemingly different groups discover common social and political goals that transcend racial distinctions — police violence, poverty, unemployment, and bad living circumstances. The film's lovely but unattainable ideal is the potential for a cross-racial and interethnic political movement.
