Bicycle Thieves

Antonio, a jobless man in Italy's devastated economy in the years following World War II, finally gets a lucrative job hanging up posters; the only criteria for the position is that he must have his own bicycle. Antonio is thrilled. Because Antonio's bicycle was taken, he and his kid have no choice but to explore the streets of Rome on foot for it or else they will be doomed to financial bankruptcy.
