Bound by Honor
The story revolves around two half-brothers, Paco and Cruz, and their bi-racial cousin, Miklo, as told by poet Jimmy Santiago Baca. Three East L.A. gang members known as the "Vatos Locos" are at the center of the story, which begins in 1972 and focuses on how a violent crime and the influence of narcotics change their lives. For Miklo, San Quentin is where he makes his own home while serving his time. Cruz becomes a talented artist, but he succumbs to a heroin addiction that has tragic consequences. Miklo's "carnal" Paco becomes a cop and a rival.
