Dark Blue World

It turns out that Lt. Franta Slama is a very good pilot in the Czech Air Force. She is assigned to teach a young pilot, Karel Vojtisek, and they become friends. Both of them don't like their new leaders and flee to England, where they join other Czech refugees in the RAF. In the middle of a mission over England, Karel gets into a plane accident. He lands at the farmhouse of Susan, a young woman whose husband is in the Navy, and they talk. As time goes on, Karel falls in love with Susan. They have a short fling but in the end, Karel prefers to be with Franta, who is older and more savvy than Susan. They keep their friendship going even though they are competing for the heart of each other.
