Day of Wrath
The story takes place in a Danish village in the early 1600s, where a young woman named Anne, whose mother was suspected of being a witch, develops feelings of sympathy for an elderly woman named Marte, who is accused of practicing witchcraft. Fortunately, the intervention of Anne's older but sympathetic husband, Pastor Absalon, saved her mother's life— but now, under pressure from his domineering mother, he refuses to assist Marte. As soon as Absalon's son returns home and finds himself attracted to Anne, it's just a matter of time before the consequences of her family's fate catch up with her.
