Fantastic Planet

The Oms are human-like animals kept as pets by an alien species of blue giants known as Draags. On the Draags' planet Ygam, we follow our narrator, an Om named Terr, from childhood to adulthood. He manages to free himself from servitude by a Draag learning gadget intended to educate the barbaric Oms — and begins planning an Om uprising.
