Finding a Family

Bright Alex grew up in Michigan, proud of his mother, Romanian immigrant Ileana, who became a professor after vowing to attend Harvard and fulfill her ambition. However, when Alex's mother develops manic-depressive symptoms and continually stops taking her medication, Alex is placed in foster care.
