Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream People Call Human Life
In order to become a servant, Jakob enrolls in the Institute Benjamenta, run by brothers Johannes and Lisa Benjamenta. As one of eight students studying under Lisa's tutelage, he is forced to learn ludicrous things such as how to move, draw circles, and submit. He requests for a room with more space. There are no more pupils in attendance, and none have left to find work. Johannes is dissatisfied, egotistical, and disconnected from the school's daily operations. Lisa is stunning, both when she's in control and when she's on the point of losing it. It has an incestuous odor. Jakob and Lisa may have a mutual attraction. During the colder months, she goes into a coma. Things get worse, and Johannes points out that it all started when Jakob arrived. Is there a link between the two?
