Memories of Me

Doctor Abbie Polin (Crystal) from New York City has a heart attack. He goes to Los Angeles so that his father, Abe (King), can see him. Abe is known in Hollywood as "king of the extras." Many years ago, their relationship was very bad, and it has not been getting better any time soon. In this film, Henry Winkler directed his first movie. Most of it was filmed at the MGM Studios in Culver City, which is only a few miles from Hollywood. This was the first movie that Winkler directed. Lisa, the love interest in Abbie's life, also comes for a visit. Abe, who gets along with everyone but his son, also gets along well with everyone else, except for Lisa. Abe starts forgetting things and is eventually found to have a brain aneurysm. She wants to get Abe a speaking part in a movie before it's too late. He and his son become more close over time.
