Mug
Jacek is a metalhead who adores his dog. He turns the country lanes outside his door into a racetrack, bombing them down in his small automobile. Everyone flees for cover when he and his girlfriend Dagmara come to the dancing. He relishes his existence as a cool outcast in an otherwise stuffy milieu and maintains his muscles toned by working on a construction site on the Polish-German border where the world's largest Jesus statue is being built. However, his life is thrown into disarray when he is involved in a horrific workplace accident that permanently disfigures him. Jacek is the first person in Poland to receive a face transplant, and his story is eagerly followed by the Polish media. He may be hailed as a national hero and martyr, but he has lost sight of himself in the mirror. In the meantime, the Jesus statue continues to increase in height. While the events around Jacek happen at a breakneck pace, the film never loses sight of the overall picture, instead bringing everything into sharper focus.
