Rising Sun

Detectives John Conner and Web Smith are called in to investigate the death of a prostitute in a Los Angeles skyscraper owned by a huge Japanese firm. Despite Conner's prior experience working in Japan, cultural differences make progress difficult until a security disc containing evidence of the murder is discovered. Close examination reveals that the disc has been tampered with, and the investigators know they're also dealing with a cover-up.
