Royal Opera House: The Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Beauty holds an unique area in The Royal Dancing's repertory. It was the ballet with which the Firm reopened the Royal Music hall in 1946 after The Second World War, its very first manufacturing at its brand-new home in Covent Yard. Margot Fonteyn danced the function of the stunning Princess Aurora in the sneak preview, with Robert Helpmann as Prince Florimund. Sixty years later on, in 2006, the original 1946 hosting was revitalized by then Director of The Royal Dancing Monica Mason as well as Christopher Newton, returning Oliver Messel's terrific layouts and also flashing outfits to the stage.
