Rose has lived in the same picturesque lake cottage for the past half century, and she now spends her days fishing around the property. The obstinate matriarch refuses to sell the family home despite the fact that she is not getting any younger and her daughter Patti is concerned about Rose living by herself. She doesn't want to leave because she's made so many memories in this place. These come flooding back to Rose one weekend during a visit from Patti and her granddaughter Allison, when a roll of film that she had forgotten about for a very long time reminds her of the summer when she met the daring and beautiful Louise and fell in love with her.
