The Empty Hours
As part of Films in Progress during the 60th edition of the Festival, Aarón Fernández's second film was presented in Spain, Mexico, and France. To make ends meet, 17-year-old Sebastián is forced to run his uncle's motel by himself on Veracruz's lonely shore, renting out rooms by the hour. To meet him, the regular customer who goes there to wait for a boyfriend who frequently arrives late sparks a brief game of seduction between him and her.
