The Miracle Worker
This is the true story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan, a heart-pounding fight to get over impossible obstacles and learn to communicate. A young Helen Keller is sick with scarlet fever, and she can't see well at all. This means that she can no longer see, hear, or speak. Helen is cut off from the rest of the world. She can't talk to anyone, and no one can talk to her, either. Helen gets angry and yells when she is angry or desperate. Her family is terrified by her uncontrollable rages and tantrums. Annie Sullivan, a gifted teacher, is called by the family to help the girl learn about the world that she isn't allowed to see. This will free Helen Keller from her internal prison for good. The 1962 movie was made into a TV show. Patty Duke also played Helen Keller in the movie.
