The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Clary Fray, a seemingly regular teenager living in New York City, discovers that she is descended from a line of Shadowhunters — warriors who safeguard humanity from evil forces. Clary joins up with a group of Shadowhunters and enters Downworld, a parallel realm filled with demons, vampires, and a variety of other creatures, after her mother vanishes. Clary and her companions are tasked with locating and protecting an ancient cup that holds the key to her mother's future.
