Wasted Talent
The gritty documentary Wasted Talent, directed by Steve Stanulis and produced by Noel Ashman, examines the temptations and hardships that many budding celebrities face on their way to recognition. Lillo Brancato, the actor often dubbed the "next Robert De Niro," is the subject of this biopic, which tells the narrative of his rise to stardom in films like A Bronx Tale (in which De Niro made his directing debut), Renaissance Man, Crimson Tide, and the cult television series The Sopranos. He ended up becoming a heroin addict instead, leading to his incarceration for the murder of a New York City cop who was killed on an accidental drug trip. Brancato served eight and a half years in prison despite the fact that he was exonerated of the murder allegation. The young actor was able to stay clean and sober during his time in prison and is now trying to earn his way back into the entertainment industry.
