Agony
Agony was a 1979-1981 ITV sitcom. Maureen Lipman played a successful agony aunt with a failing marriage. Len Richmond, Anna Raeburn, Stan Hey, and Andrew Nickolds wrote it. ITV's LWT made it. Agony dealt with taboo themes like as drug usage, racism, abortion, interracial relationships, and swinging. It was the first British sitcom to portray a gay couple as non-camp, humorous, bright, and happy. It ridiculed the government, the ruling classes, and religion and sometimes had dark, dramatic plots.
