Barrier Master

Yellow Tanabe is the author and illustrator of the manga series Kekkaishi, which is set in the supernatural world. From 2003 until 2011, it was published as a serial in the manga magazine Shnen Sunday by Shogakukan in Japan. Viz Media was granted a license to publish it in the English language in North America. Sunrise turned it into a fifty-two episode anime series, and it first aired between October 2006 and February 2008 [October 2006 - February 2008]. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura are the protagonists of the series. Both are the heirs to opposing generations of kekkai users, and they are tasked with protecting their school against the evil spirits that are drawn to the hallowed soil upon which it is situated. Kekkaishi got the 2007 Shogakukan Manga Award for sh?nen manga.
