Degrassi Junior High
As part of the Degrassi series, Degrassi Junior High is a Canadian teen drama that ran on CBC TV from 1987 to 1989. The show showed what happened to a group of students at the school named in the title. In many episodes, the show talked about tough issues like drug use, child abuse, teen pregnancy, homosexuality, homophobia, racism, and divorce. The show was praised for how sensitively and realistically it showed the problems teens face. Most of the actors in the show were not professionals, which made the show feel more real. Many of the actors on the show were also on The Kids of Degrassi Street a few years before. These actors included Stacie Mistysyn, Neil Hope, Anais Granofsky, Sarah Charlesworth, and others. But their names and family situations were different, so Degrassi Junior High can't be thought of as a direct spinoff. Stephen Stohn, who later became the executive producer of Degrassi: The Next Generation, was the lawyer for all of the episodes. The show was filmed in Etobicoke, Ontario, at the empty Vincent Massey Public School.
