Doug
Developed by Jim Jinkins, Doug is an American animated sitcom co-produced by his company, Jumbo Pictures. There is a story arc that follows Douglas "Doug" Funnie as he adjusts to life in his new community of Bluffington, Virginia, where he attends school and encounters everyday problems. Puppy love, bullying, and hearsay are all parodied in this series. Patti Mayonnaise, Doug's high school sweetheart, is the subject of numerous episodes. In the United States of America, Doug had its first broadcast on the Nickelodeon network. It, along with Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show, were the original three Nicktoons, which premiered simultaneously on August11, 1991 and ended on January2, 1994. In1996, Disney acquired the defunct Jumbo Pictures and subsequently aired the series on ABC as part of the previous Disney's One Saturday Morning programming block. The second season debuted on September7,1996, and ended on June26,1999, with a feature picture adaptation. When TeenNick's The '90s Are All That block premiered in2011, the Nickelodeon show was syndicated on it.
