Endurance
Endurance is an American reality show for kids that used to air on the Discovery Kids cable network in the US and on other networks in other countries. The format of the show is similar to that of the CBS show Survivor, but the cast is all teenagers. Endurance contestants live in a remote area and take part in both mental and physical challenges. They compete in pairs, and the results of the challenges determine which pair of players is eliminated. During its six-year run from 2002 to2008, each season started with a new group of contestants. As the season went on, contestants were eliminated one by one until only two teams were left to compete for all of the Endurance Pyramid pieces. The prize for the winning boy and girl was a trip to an exotic location with their parents that included all costs. The last episode of the sixth season, which aired for the first time on March8,2008, was the last one made. Hub Network, which took over for Discovery Kids, is still showing repeats of Endurance in the U.S. until July22, 2013. The Hub's reruns stopped on October14,2011, but the show came back for reruns on April2,2012, but was again canceled. Azteca America also shows reruns with Spanish dubbing on the weekends. Endurance was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Children's Series" for all three of its seasons, but it never won.
