Extra is an American entertainment television news program that started on September 5, 1994 in syndication. The program covers events as well as individuals in the entertainment industry. In the beginning, production took place at the Victory Studios in Glendale, California, and was handled by Telepictures Productions in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television Distribution. It was distributed by Time-Telepictures Television between the years 1995 and 2003. Time-Telepictures Television was the result of a combination between Time Magazine and Telepictures. Additionally, Extra spawned a spin-off series known as Celebrity Justice, which aired for a total of just three seasons between the years 2002 and 2005. The Ellen DeGeneres Show is the other program produced by Warner Bros. Television that will be syndicated to NBCUniversal's various television stations. Extra is one of the series that will be syndicated. The other entertainment program that airs on WBTV is called TMZ on TV. Extra is one of two entertainment programs that air on the channel.
