Good Luck Charlie
The first episode of the American sitcom Good Luck Charlie aired on Disney Channel on April 4, 2010. Phil Baker and Drew Vaupen made the show because they wanted to make something that was fun for the whole family, not just the kids. It's about a family in Denver, the Duncans, who are trying to get used to having their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte "Charlie" Duncan and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan makes Charlie a video diary with advice about their family and being a teenager. In the video diaries, Teddy tries to show Charlie what she might go through when she's older so that she can learn from it. Teddy says the phrase "Good luck, Charlie" at the end of each video diary. Executives decided, among other things, to add scenes that were more for adults and to change the name of the show from Oops to Love, Teddy and then to Good Luck Charlie so that the whole family could enjoy it. On April 4, 2010, the first episode of Good Luck Charlie aired in the United States on Disney Channel. It was first shown in Canada on April 5, 2010, in the UK and Ireland on May 14, 2010, and in Australia and New Zealand on July 23, 2010. Good Luck Charlie was picked up for a second season. Filming started in August 2010, and the first episode of the new season aired on February 20, 2011. Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas!, a full-length Christmas Disney Channel Original Movie based on the show, started filming in March 2011 and will be shown for the first time in December 2011.
