Gungrave
Yasuhiro Nightow's video game Gungrave inspired the anime series Gungrave. Madhouse Studios produces the Toshiyuki Tsuru-directed, Yousuke Kuroda-written series. Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell climb through Millennion's ranks. TV Tokyo showed Gungrave from October6, 2003 to March29, 2004. Tsuneo Imahori provides the series' music, including the opening theme, as he did for the Gungrave video game and its sequel. Geneon Entertainment, formerly Pioneer Entertainment, licensed Gungrave in 2003. Geneon Entertainment and Funimation Entertainment announced a partnership to distribute select titles in North America on July3, 2008. Funimation Entertainment will manufacture, promote, sell, and distribute chosen titles under Geneon Entertainment's license. Gungrave was announced as a contract title on December30, 2008. Funimation licensed the anime on November26, 2010. The anime series returned to Funimation Channel on May11, 2011.
