Hillside
The Canadian-American teen drama Hillside (known in the United States as Fifteen) aired from 1991 to 1993 on YTV in Canada. This was Nickelodeon's sole teen soap opera, created and produced by John T. Binkley. Similar to the majority of daytime dramas, the show was shot on videotape. A 13-episode pilot was made and tested in the United States under the title Fifteen for The Disney Channel. After Disney chose not to move forward with the project, Nickelodeon and Canadian partners joined Binkley in producing the series, which was known in Canada as Hillside for its first and second seasons and as Fifteen for its entire 65-episode run in the United States. Subsequently, the show was syndicated internationally, including runs in Germany and Israel. Over the course of the show's four-season run, the ensemble cast has seen various changes. Laura Harris, Enuka Okuma, and Ryan Reynolds are among the notable cast members.
