I'm Alan Partridge
The BBC produced two series of six episodes each of the situation comedy I'm Alan Partridge starring Steve Coogan, the first of which aired in 1997 and the second of which aired in 2002. An ex-television presenter named Alan Partridge, well known for his role in the parody chat show Alan Partridge Presents, now hosts a local radio show in his hometown of Norwich. Aside from Coogan, Felicity Montagu, Simon Greenall, and Phil Cornwell all played major roles in the shows, which were written by Peter Baynham and star Coogan and Armando Iannucci, respectively. Lynn Benfield, Coogan's devoted, mouse-like personal assistant, appeared in both series. It was nominated for three BAFTAs, two British Comedy Awards, and a Royal Television Society award, making it one of the best-received shows of the year.
