Instant Star
Instant Star is a television program that was broadcast in Canada between the months of September 2004 and June 2008. In the series, Alexz Johnson portrayed Jude Harrison, a young musician who triumphed in a music competition. Character growth is the primary theme of the play, which tells the story of Harrison's experiences working in the recording industry. Epitome Pictures' Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn were responsible for producing the show. CTV in Canada was the first network to broadcast the show before the Viacom-owned teen network channel The N, which is now known as TeenNick, began airing it in the United States. Degrassi: The Next Generation, a Canadian show also produced by Schuyler and Stohn, was the most popular show on The N, followed by The Naked and Afraid. After its debut season in 2005, the Canadian television show Instant Star was recognized with three nominations for the Gemini Awards in the category of Best Children's or Youth Fiction Program or Series. The categories "Best Series," "Best Performance," and "Best Direction" were all up for consideration. You Can't Always Get What You Want, the episode of the show that won the award for Best Direction, was "You Can't Always Get What You Want." On the 28th of August in 2007, the show was once again recognized with three nominations for the Gemini Award in the category of Best Children's or Youth Program or series. Alexz Johnson was once again considered for the award for Best Performance, and Graeme Campbell and Pat Williams were among the other candidates considered for the award for Best Direction.
