Interceptor
Jacques Antoine, Jean Jacques Pasquier, and Malcolm Heyworth are the brains behind the game show Interceptor, which airs in the United Kingdom. It was produced by Chatsworth in partnership with Thames and broadcast on the ITV network over the summer of 1989. One final episode was saved for a New Year's Day special broadcast on January 1, 1990, and it was aired after all the other episodes. It was produced in the time slot between the game programs Treasure Hunt and The Crystal Maze, both of which were produced by the same firm. Annabel Croft, a former tennis star and currently a participant on Treasure Hunt, served as the show's host. Sean O'Kane was the actor who portrayed the title character, Interceptor. Although Interceptor was favorably welcomed by both critics and audiences, the show was only ever produced in eight episodes. Despite this, the show has somewhat of a cult following, which resulted in re-runs being broadcast on the digital TV channel Challenge beginning in the year 2001 and continuing on. The series was ranked as the United Kingdom's thirteenth best game show in a poll that was held in 2002 by the website UKGameshows.com.
