Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge
Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge is a six-part BBC television series that aired in 1995, as well as a Christmas special. It is called after the ABBA song "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which was utilized as the title music for the show. Alan Partridge, the inept yet self-satisfied Norwich-based host, was played by Steve Coogan. Alan was a satirical radio character from the show On the Hour. Knowing Me, Knowing You was written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci, and Patrick Marber, with help from Doon Mackichan, Rebecca Front, and David Schneider, who played Alan's weekly guests. Steve Brown composed and arranged the show's music and also played Glen Ponder, the man in command of the house band. The show was a spoof of a talk show. It included a live audience, whose laughter ensured that viewers did not mistake the show for a genuine talk show. Alan went on to star in two seasons of the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, which followed his life after his marriage and TV career ended.
