Macross Plus
Macross Plus is an anime OVA with four episodes and a movie that was shown in theaters. It was the first sequel to the original Macross TV show that took place in the official timeline. When it came out, Plus was a groundbreaking mix of traditional cel animation and computer-generated animation. It paved the way for more computer-generated images to be used in Japanese animation. Both the OVA series and the movie were put out by Bandai Visual in Japan. Manga Entertainment put them out in North America and Europe. Manga Entertainment put out the VHS version in Australia, and Madman Entertainment put out the DVD version under a sub-license from Manga Entertainment. It has a lot of new mecha designs that were inspired by the first series.
