Mad About You
NBC aired Mad About You from September 23, 1992 until May 24, 1999. Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt play a NYC newlywed couple. Reiser played documentarian Paul Buchman. Hunt played publicist Jamie Stemple Buchman. The couple had Mabel near the conclusion of the show's run. The sitcom focuses on the couples' funny daily banality and huge problems. The show's realistic events and insightful banter drew comparisons to Seinfeld, another NBC sitcom about New York City thirtysomethings. Last season, Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser earned $1 million every episode. The sitcom was moved from its Tuesday schedule to NBC's new Monday night comedy lineup, which hurt ratings. "The Final Frontier" ended the series. Reiser and Don Was composed "Final Frontier" Andrew Gold originally sang the theme, but Anita Baker took over in 1997.
