Masked Rider
Masked Rider is an American version of the Japanese television series Kamen Rider Black RX, the ninth in the iconic Kamen Rider Series. Produced by Saban, it ran on FOX as part of the Fox Kids programming block from September16, 1995 to August31,1996, and then in syndication from September9, 1996 until September 1997. BVS International transferred the rights to Masked Rider to SCG Power Rangers on May7, 2010. A week prior to the premiere of his own series, the titular protagonist of Masked Rider appeared in "A Friend in Need," a 3-part Power Rangers episode. The Rangers themselves were never addressed in the Masked Rider television series, as Saban restructured the show to exclude all ties to Power Rangers. The Rangers did make a cameo appearance in Marvel Comics' short-lived Masked Rider comic book adaption. Similar to the early seasons of Power Rangers and VR Troopers, Masked Rider's battle and villain scenes were taken from Japanese stock footage – specifically Kamen Rider Black RX. Episodes also featured Ferbus interacting with Combat Chopper and Magno, as well as the two Japanese Kamen Rider films Kamen Rider ZO and Kamen Rider J.
