Masters of Science Fiction
Masters of Science Fiction is an American television anthology series created by the same people that created Masters of Horror. The show premiered on ABC on August 4, 2007, at 10 p.m. for four episodes. It was initially slated to air in six parts, but two episodes were cut for unclear reasons. The premise is similar to Masters of Horror, with each hour-long episode consisting of a separate short film adaptation of a story by a respected member of the science fiction community, thus the Masters in the title. The show was picked up by Space in Canada in December 2007. This enabled the North American premiere of the two missing episodes. On August 5, 2008, a Region 1 DVD of all six episodes was released. The Science Channel began running the episodes under the title "Stephen Hawking's Sci-Fi Masters" on February12,2012, with the first domestic airing of the episode "Watchbirds." The show is hosted off-screen by physicist Stephen Hawking.
