Moesha
Moesha was an American comedy that ran on the UPN network from January 23, 1996 until May 14, 2001. The sitcom stars R&B singer Brandy Norwood as Moesha Mitchell, a high school student who lives with her family in South Central Los Angeles' Leimert Park area. It was originally commissioned as a pilot for the CBS network's 1995-1996 television season, but was turned down. It was then bought up by UPN, which aired it as a mid-season replacement. It went on to become the nascent network's biggest success and one of the network's best hits over its entire lifespan.
