Natural World
Natural World is a nature documentary TV show that airs once a year on BBC Two. The BBC sees it as its flagship natural history brand. It is currently the longest-running show of its kind on British television, with more than 400 episodes since it started in 1983. Natural World is made by the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol, but each show can be made in-house, in collaboration with other broadcasters, or with films made and sold by independent production companies that the BBC then buys. Natural World shows are often shown as PBS Nature episodes in the United States. Since 2008, most Natural World shows have been shot and broadcast in high definition.
