Rebelde
Cris Morena created the Mexican telenovela Rebelde for Televisa. It is a remake of the popular Argentine television series Rebelde Way, which has been adapted for a Mexican audience, resulting in alterations in the backgrounds of the characters. The show lasted three seasons, with the final episode airing on June2, 2006 in Mexico. Televisa's new series Código Postal took the place of Rebelde in June 2006. The series is set in the Elite Way School in Mexico City, a prestigious private boarding high school with a significant plot line centered on a group of kids forming a pop band. The school's professors and the pupils' parents are also involved in subplots. Fresa's characters frequently employ English terms and phrases, which has become a characteristic of the show. The actors who play the band members are members of a real band called RBD, and they perform the majority of the music featured in the show. They've had a lot of success on their own, becoming one of Latin America's most popular artists and traveling all over the world. Rebelde premiered on March21,2005, and ran until December15,2006, when it was cancelled. Serbia, Peru, Romania on Acasa TV, Brazil, Spain on Antena3, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Slovakia on TV Doma, Croatia on Nova TV, and Albania on Vizion Plus were among the 65 countries in which the show was broadcast.
