Rock School
Rock School is a British reality television programme starring Gene Simmons in which he has a limited amount of time to transform a group of schoolchildren into a full-fledged rock band, after which they must perform as a support act for a major rock band. RDF Media's Rock School has aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, RTL 7 in the Netherlands, Channel Ten and Channel V in Australia, TVNZ's TV2 in New Zealand, VH-1 in the United States and Latin America, TV2 Zebra in Norway, Nelonen in Finland, TV4 in Sweden, Much Music in Canada, Vitaya in Belgium, and ORF1 in Austria. School of Rock, a comedy film starring Jack Black with a similar subject, was released in 2003, before the first series began, though the creative team and Gene Simmons assert that it was not developed because of the popularity of that film, and that it had been in the works since 2002. Simmons does not appear to be planning any further series since Series 2 owing to KISS obligations.
