Romanzo Criminale
Romanzo Criminale – La serie–is an Italian television series based on the eponymous novel by judge Giancarlo De Cataldo, and it is the second adaptation of Michele Placido's film Romanzo Criminale. The first season soon became cult in Italy. After Quo Vadis, Baby?, this is the second fiction series. Sky produced the show, which aired with English subtitles on Fox Crime, Sky One, and Sky Arts in 2012. The series, which takes place between 1977 and1989, follows a criminal group in Rome that has a near-monopoly on the city's heroin trade. The majority of the characters speak in Romanesco. Three old buddies, Libanese, Freddo, and Dandi, lead the gang. In addition to internal strife, the gang must contend with the Camorra and the Sicilian Mafia, which provide its heroin, the police led by Commissioner Scialoja, and the Italian secret services. The plot is inspired by the Banda della Magliana of the 1970s and 1990s.
