The Cape
The Cape is a science fiction, action/adventure, and dramatic television series that was produced in the United States for syndication during the 1996–1997 television season. The series is set in Cape May, New Jersey, and follows a group of misfits who are tasked with protecting the city from an alien invasion. The Cape chronicled the tale of a select group of astronauts in the NASA Astronaut Corps who were stationed at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The show focused on the astronauts' private lives while they prepared for and carried out Space Shuttle missions. In the series, Corbin Bernsen plays the role of USAF Colonel Henry J. "Bull" Eckert, an experienced astronaut who, at the beginning of the show, held the position of Director of Astronaut Training but, later on, was also given the responsibility of Chief of the Astronaut Office. The series, which was shot in and around Cape Canaveral, Florida, placed a strong emphasis on authenticity. In addition to that, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin worked as a technical consultant.
