The Hospital
Jerry Yan, Leon Dai, Janine Chang, Zhang Guozhu, Ng Man Tat, and Tang Zhiping star in the 2006 Taiwanese drama The Hospital. Yang Ming International Production produced it, while Cài Yuè Xun directed it. From 15 August 2006 to 6 October 2006, thirty-nine 60-minute episodes of the series were broadcast on free-to-air China Television, Monday through Friday at 20:00. The story of The Hospital is based on Taiwanese author Hou Wenyong's 2000 Chinese novel of the same name. It illustrates the power struggle and prestige within a Taiwanese national university-affiliated hospital, as well as the community's interpersonal relations. Hou's novel is frequently linked to Toyoko Yamasaki's Japanese novel Shiroi Kyot, due to similarities in the title and tale setting. Both novels have been made into Asian television series. At the 42nd Golden Bell Prizes in 2007, the drama was nominated for eight awards and won Best Directing for a Television Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series.
