The League of Gentlemen
The League of Gentlemen is a British comedy show that has been on TV since 1999. It started on BBC Two. The show takes place in a made-up Northern English town called Royston Vasey, which is based on Bacup, Lancashire. It shows the lives of a lot of strange people in the town. Most of them are played by three of the show's four writers, Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith, who, along with Jeremy Dyson, started the comedy group League of Gentlemen in 1995. From 1999 to 2002, there were three seasons of the show. In 2005, a movie was made based on the show. In December 2017, to mark the group's 20th anniversary, a three-part revival miniseries was shown on TV.
