War of the Worlds
War of the Worlds is a two-season Canadian/American science-fiction television series that aired from October 10, 1988 to May 14, 1990. The series is a sequel to the original 1953 film The War of the Worlds, employing the same War Machine and frequently mixing elements from the film, radio adaptation, and original novel into its mythos. Though the original film's producer, George Pal, had an idea for a TV series based on the same picture in the 1970s, it wasn't until the late 1980s that a series was ultimately achieved, this time by television producer Greg Strangis. The show was part of the period's surge in first-run syndicated television series production. It was later shown on the Sci Fi Channel in reruns. The show was shot in Los Angeles, California, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
