Webster
Webster is an American situation comedy that ran on ABC from September 16, 1983, to May 8, 1987, then from September 21, 1987, to March 10, 1989 in first-run syndication. Stu Silver is the man behind the show. Emmanuel Lewis plays a little kid who is adopted by his NFL-pro godfather, Alex Karras, and his new socialite wife, Susan Clark, after losing his parents. The focus was primarily on how this rashly married couple adjusted to their new lives and unexpected parenthood, but much of the plot was driven by Webster himself. Georgian Bay Ltd., Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment Enterprises, Inc., and Paramount Television produced the show. Webster featured a young African-American kid adopted by a white family, similar to NBC's earlier success Diff'rent Strokes.
