A Ring of Endless Light
Vicky Austin,15, visits her grandfather on Seven Bay Island with her sister Suzy and younger brother Rob. Vicky meets numerous unexpected hurdles. Her grandfather, retired Reverend Eaton, appears to be gravely ill, but tries to hide it. Vicky had met the wealthy but emotionally troubled Zachary Gray the previous summer, and he has returned to renew their acquaintance. Another teenager, 17-year-old Adam Eddington, recruits Vicky to assist him with a research project involving a dolphin named Basil. Vicky realizes she can interact with the dolphin and his mate telepathically, and presumably with Adam as well.
