Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby takes care of pop stars Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. The boys have to stop being music superstars and go back to school, where they have to win the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands to save the school's music program. But Brittany, Eleanor, and Jeanette, who sing and are known as "The Chipettes," give the Chipmunks a run for their money. When the Chipmunks and Chipettes fight, sparks of romance and music fly.
