During his last days, Jake Huard promised his mother that he'd make it to the Naval Academy in Anapolis so that she could see him grow up. Because he kept pestering a Congressman, he was chosen even though he had bad grades. Jake soon shows that he isn't very good at school when he gets inside. A lot of times, Jake was made the "over-cocky" reason for the whole class to be in pain because of him. He almost quit after seeing his father's glee. A boxing tournament called the "brigade" is open to people of all ranks. Jake, who is stubborn, gets help from his friends as well as Senor Ali, the man he wants to marry.
