Ayla: The Daughter of War
In1950, Sergeant Süleyman finds a half-frozen girl without parents or aid. On the point of death, this tiny girl catches Süleyman's heart, and he risks his own life to save her, smuggling her into his Army post. In memory of the moon on the fateful night they met, Süleyman calls her Ayla. Ayla brings inexplicable delight to the Turkish unit in the midst of conflict, and the two create an instant and everlasting friendship. But when the battle ends, Süleyman's brigade is told they would be returning home. Süleyman can't bear to leave Ayla and does everything to take her with him. Unable to reunite with Ayla after several attempts, he is obliged to give her up to an orphanage. Can they ever reconcile?
